New for 2014

USSSA announces 'The Road to Memphis' for the 2014 season.

For 2014 there will be Dual Qualifier Super NIT's that will award not only berths to the Elite World Series, but berths to the Louisville Slugger National Championship being held at Big League Dreams in California. Along with the berths, there will be travel monies awarded to the 1st and 2nd place teams at these Dual Qualifying Super NIT's. Travel monies will be awarded when teams check in for the Elite or Louisville event. Two berths will be awarded at the Elite and Louisville events for the USSSA National Youth Championship in Memphis, TN. Additionally teams in the Major classification will earn Super NIT points by playing in Super NIT's. The top eight in Super NIT points from each age group will be awarded berths and travel monies to participate in the USSSA National Youth Championship! All-American and represent your

region in the USSSA All-American Games during the summer of 2014?

Register today to see how you stack up against the competition.  All participants will be evaluated on hitting running throwing fielding and pitching.  Event results will be stored in each player’s USSSA profile. Additionally there will be a ranking of players by region based on showcase results. At the conclusion of all showcases in each region one team of All Americans will be chosen from each region per age group to compete in the USSSA All American Games held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports. Click here for tryout information!

There have been a lot of questions about the new bat rules effective Jan. 1, 2012

BIG BARREL BATS 
A. JANUARY 1, 2012, 14U AND YOUNGER
BIG BARREL BAT RULES 

TO BE LEGAL FOR USSSA 14U AND BELOW, A BIG BARREL BAT MUST BE MANUFACTURED BY AN APPROVED USSSA BAT LICENSEE AND 

1.)  HAVE THE NEW USSSA MARK ON ITS TAPER
 OR

2.)  BE A QUALIFIED BBCOR BAT 
OR

3.)  BE A WOOD BAT

Ohio Concussion Legislation

The safety of all young athletes is of utmost importance to Ohio USSSA Baseball. Several changes regarding concussion safety were made in April 2013 with the passing of Ohio State Law HB 143. By making yourself familiar with the current legislation and concussion safety information, you will be able to make the best decisions possible regarding the health of your players.

As of April 2013, Ohio law requires all youth coaches and officials to remove players who have exhibited signs and symptoms of a concussion during a practice or a game. The player is not permitted to return to play until written clearance has been provided by a physician or approved healthcare provider.

Also beginning in April 2013, all coaches and officials (either paid or volunteer) must complete an online concussion training course every three years or hold a Ohio Department of Education Pupil Activity Permit.
